New groups were often discriminated but eventually assimilated because

they became more American than those born here. Germans, Italians and others refused to teach their children their native tongue to cause assimilation.

There are so many issues. To say one group suffered the most, namely, Native Americans and Blacks, does not assume or state that others didn't have problems. They did. But it wasn't generational, except for the Chinese. Ever heard of the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882?
