Archaea Intervention Needed
There is racism elsewhere, I agree, but we can only improve our communities and
because it exists elsewhere doesn't excuse it here.

You and I tire of it and tire of discussing, because I do too, but I haven't lived with the vestiges of anger that those with generational discrimination have. I can decide, "hey, I don't want to discuss" and go about my relatively sheltered life. My life is sheltered. My clients are wealthy, my friends are well to do, even those from varying ethnic backgrounds because wealth provides immunity to many of the problems associated with racism.

Yet my concern is that we have ingrained poverty in areas primarily related to our Black citizens due in no small part to vestigial systemic racism. Of course other factors contribute to it. Nobody is denying that, but after 158 years of the Emancipation Proclamation to see that many Black Americans economically disadvantaged, it causes me to wonder how to eliminate barriers without handouts. I'm not for reparations generally, but to just ignore and blame on "them" is wrong too.
