the real key is how 2nd and 3rd string step up. Last year, in the first few games, Gunner and Puka got hurt, but Roberts, Hill, and Epps stepped up. Jaren got hurt, and no one stepped up. The glory years of the 80's saw just as many injuries, but players stepped up.
Everyone's sort of saying the same thing, but I think the more important thing is getting guys to step up rather than crossing out fingers and hoping for no injuries.
That means we need better coaching and recruiting. Hopefully, BYU's taking steps in that direction.
