I think the D's potential is the X-factor that opponents/media writers are not..
...fully considering in determining where BYU lands after their first full B12 season.
Are we going to have an amazing D? No, however, will it be much improved over the past few years? How could it not.
AJV, a healthy Tooley, Bywater, Taggart, JRob, Harper, Heckard, Bagnah, Batty, Moa all seem to be solid athletes. If they can stay healthy and are more aggressive than schemes of the past, I can't see the D going anywhere but up from the Tuiaki era, even with increased competition.
With this current D last season, Notre Dame game may have ended differently, and the East Carolina loss would have for sure been different.... who knows, maybe even Arkansas

The answer is obvious. Memorable wins on big stages. Close, forgivable losses and huge MOVs on the wins

The Big 12 is better than the PAC, but I seem to remember BYU beat a middle of the pack Big 12 team last year
