This is nonsensical

Imo, MTBiking is way way more physically taxing than road biking.

I do both, and I have for decades (although I’ve been on the MTB more often than the road bike over the last several years). I have many podiums in both MTB and road races. They are both as difficult as the rider wants to make them. You don’t have to belittle the one to build up the other.

25 miles might take 75-90 minutes for someone in your shape. Try 5x that long.
