I'm in desperate need of back surgery. It's a clear cut case that I've managed for years and finally came to a head over the winter. The surgeon's office informed me that I need 6 weeks of PT and an epidural before my insurance company will cover it. The epidural goes horribly wrong, and I'm much worse than I started. Here's the clincher - my insurance co will only cover one of the surgery centers that my surgeon uses... and they are booked until fall. So the stupid hoops they are making me jump through have done more harm than good and I'm stuck waiting in a much worse state than I needed to be... not sleeping or exercising, putting on weight and doing continued nerve damage to my legs. This ordeal started in January.
I hate insurance and health care companies right now.
