You mean like commercial payers subsidizing government rates for doctors?

This is the main reason I laugh at single payer. For single payer to be successful they would have to pay the providers three times as much as Medicare and Medicaid pay now. That’s because commercial insurance has been subsidizing government insurance since those programs came into existence.
