Probably wants a few guys who know his system and can help install it there
Although for at least one guy who's a target that doesn't apply (Chandler).
Annoying he wants to do this or feels the need to, but it's not uncommon when a coach leaves, and he has roster spots to fill given some Kentucky players leaving to follow Calipari or go elsewhere.
However, it generally hurts BYU more than it would other programs given our limited recruiting pool to begin with, which makes filling in sports more difficult.
He can have Khalifa (whose defensive issues outweighed offensive benefits by the end of the season) and JR (who was likely moving on one way or another), but hopefully he leaves others alone and realizes he can get better players.
