If Pope has any allegiance it is to his players that he recruited and if he
thinks giving them an opportunity to go to Kentucky to continue to play in his system vs staying at BYU he is going to do that. He also has allegiance to his new school, especially since it is the one school he has more passion for than all others. If he thinks one of BYU players can help him transition, why wouldn't he ask them to join him. Same with the coaches.

Who knows what is going to happen with the new coaches, new players, new system?

Going with Pope to Kentucky where he has some control over the decisions might just well provide the best situation for any that join him.

Sure...we as fans can get upset that we aren't what he worries about most...but it has never been about the fans, other than what they brought to the table to help the team. We can provide no further benefit to him. He might now still be a fan of BYU basketball, but he no longer can be benefitted..or even hurt, by the BYU fanbase.

I believe he gave us every ounce of energy he had when he was BYUs coach...and now will do it for Kentucky, with just an extra boost of passion because it is his school, just like BYU is ours.
