If you're using the rankings as your measure, it's a flawed measure
BYU gets 95% 3 stars most seasons under both Kalani and Bronco. The recruit model doesn't measure 3 star success at all. It's a total crap shoot on how 3 star recruits turn out. The rosters have been more balanced and I believe have been more talented since Kalani had all his recruits than any team in the independent era (2011 to 2015). Kalani has elevated the talent and depth despite what the popular narratives are.
