In general, history has shown that the team receiving stars in a trade typically
are the "winners" in a trade - at least in the short term. However, these moves need to be viewed with the perspective that the Jazz were unlikely to retain Mitchell past this season, so maximizing a return for him in a trade was necessary at that point - and I don't think anyone can argue that the Jazz didn't get excellent value out of that trade (and the Gobert trade).
