My wife has a very good friend who is the daughter of an NFL vet. Her dad played several years and also had a successful career post football. This girl is well educated and her husband makes good money in a blue collar field. Both of them are fantastic people. Her dad will someday leave her everything. She really doesn't have to be concerned about her future at all. He has paid off properties and invested wisely. Sold a company for millions recently. Still hasn't touched his NFL pension despite being eligible a few years ago.

Her husband bought a brand new expensive truck and she made him sell it when they just bought a house because she was uncomfortable with both payments. Good financial sense. You either have it or you don't I guess.
