second hand.

- First hand his portion of the Father’s and Sons skills camp was my favorite. The way he was fun, competitive, truly taught basketball skills well, then taught spiritual and leadership skills was awesome.
- First hand his devotion to Nike I found kind of goofy, but I am the kind of crazy who doesn’t like Nike backing Kapernick or some of their other social crap so such devotion to them I didn’t love but they butter his bread so I get it and found it quirky and fun.
- Second hand/first hand I love his brother who has been a bishop in our stake, is fun to play basketball with, is really good, and is a stud CFO and just great dude. He speaks highly of his bro and says he’s the best ball player of the brothers.
- Second hand from people in the athletic department the reason some don’t love him is they see him doing some self serving stuff with product and service promotions almost the way you see people in government do this. When people aren’t paid as much as they’d like but have access to perks they may justify taking as many of those perks as they can. So I think some don’t love him working the system to his own benefit. But that is pretty common and not the worst flaw.

That’s about all I have without dipping into CB rumor. But most people I know who know him, like him. But maybe laugh about him being a competitive stinker sometimes. And my own interaction with him I really liked him and he stood out above all the coaches or administrators we met at the camp as the best at working a crowd and hitting you with fun and the Spirit.

So I like him.
