Find which hand he catches with. Put the glove on that hand.

It's likely that he'll play first base as a left hander. Unlikely he'll be a catcher, or 3rd base.

Other than that, it doesn't really matter

Lefties can play plenty, including catcher…but if you have an arm they make you a pitcher. Hence no lefty catchers.
