I took my family there a couple summers ago. We didn't make it to Homer but we did a whale watching tour out of Seward.
Another day We took our kids to pan for gold at girdwood, did the tram and alyaska, and went to Whittier. I think Whittier is awesome and the drive is really pretty and my kids thought the tunnel was awesome. It was an incredible vacation my wife and kids loved it.

How many days do you have? Homer is one of the if not the most beautiful place on Earth. Seward is top 5.
