Depending on the time this might actually not be great-
Make sure the salmon are running (June or August generally). Otherwise not much happens.
I only fished there once in 4 years but I also can’t stand salmon. It’s a fun experience though.

I took my family there a couple summers ago. We didn't make it to Homer but we did a whale watching tour out of Seward.
