Are the people who say 15%+ really rich or empty nesters? Between my taxes, 7.5%
401k contribution, tithing, mortgage, food, bills, and kids stuff, there is no way I could come up with another 7.5%+ even if we cancelled every streaming service, stopped eating out completely, bought cheaper groceries, etc. I already do all the repairs on my own vehicles, all the remodeling on my own house, etc.

I think it will be another 10 years once kids are finishing up college and missions, and I get the 10% bump for making full professor, that it looks like I will have money to really be doing the 15%+ thing.

P.S.: I lied. My school lets us go up to 10% contribution and 10% match after 50, so I will definitely take advantage of that. But, that still is only hitting 10%, not the 15%+.
