be better than Woolston. Woolston was a phenomenal shooter but not a great creator and was shut down in quite a few big 12 games. So if Gibb has a higher level of creation than could very well equal output of Woolston even if Gibb shoots a lower percentage.
Martin for Smiler should be a tradeup but that's still not a guarantee. Martin has more talent and better physical tools (Martin is 6'0 and Smiler was 5"7), yet Martin underperformed last season at Cal. Smiler's defensive tenacity was great.
Davenport is a wildcard and should be much better than her stats say. She has the talent to make a big leap. In hindsight Whiting should have just been investing 30 minutes a game in Davenport instead of the 15 to 20 she got. Davenport has a nice shot, a nice step back game, and even made a lot of good drives to the basket but unfortunately would brick the layups over and over. Davenport shot 35% from three point range and just 33% from 2 point range. Also it seems realistic for Davenport to improve her anticipation and stop turning it over so much. She had a 1 to 2 assist to turnover ratio. I think its possible that the game could slow down for her a little and she could at least even that out. Davenport has the talent to be a double digit scorer for us.
Gustin to Gillispie on the inside is a huge downgrade for us offensively. Gustin actually wasn't that good defensively because she's too short for her position, and Gillispie figures to have that same problem.
Inside game is biggest area of concern.
