The mistake wasn't when they pulled
Player carries the puck in 1vs4 and didn't get it deep when he lost it. Either he needs to keep it or get it deep to set up a forecheck
The goalie had just got off the ice so there was no real man advantage yet.

It seems to me,teams pull the goalie a lot earlier than they used to do. I get it when down by more then 1 goal,
