I’ve become a lot more cognizant of it after reading about overprescribing
Antibiotics and the potential global health Crisis it will lead to as antibiotic resistant super bugs become more common. CB in particular likes to discuss it.
As mentioned by others I think it’s a cultural (patients demanding it) and liability (much riskier for the doctor to prescribe it than not to) than doctors being lazy.

What do you expect them to do? Most of those illnesses are just random viruses or bacterial infections.
