The crazy thing is, everyone thinks they are all about rewarding entrepreneurship and hard working drivers, and its not. Its one of the biggest valuations in Silicon Valley and transfers all of the risk to the drivers and removes a good chunk of the profit for drivers.
Less money = more risk....
Instead of supporting the local cab companies, who are committed to the community, it shuffles all that money to some fat cats in CA. (and some despicable creeps, based on their personal lives, but thats besides the point).
To be fair, cab companies haven't been able to get out of their own way, and improve their own business model. I fear it might be too late now.
