community", I'm not implying they are all marytrs or anything. Just that they are small locally owned enterprises who employ people and services and support our local economy.
Vs. a big portion of it going to a huge entity valued at $18.2 BB, in Uber's case ($700MM for Lyft), spread among the uber-wealthy (hah! see what I did there...uber wealthy).
Yes, I am one of those annoying people who like to buy local if I can.
That said, criticisms against current cab companies are totally valid - they should have (as I have said in this thread) re-modeled years ago. Hopefully, this encourages them to do so.
