First of all, in my IMHO Coach Rose is untouchable
He has the best winning percentage of any coach at BYU ever.
I see the point of John to install a half court offense, but is lets not forget that this system has gotten us a lot of MWC championship an a lot of top recruits.
I think we could have a better offensive coach and replace Nashif, but the problem is more than that and I think our problem is not our offense.
I think first and foremost our problem is clearly our D. Here start and end all of our problems.
With this D we are getting a hard time defending the paint and presuring the ball, therefore, we are having trouble finding transition buckets.
I remember in Jimmer times we got a ton of those.
Second problem is that since we dont defend well enough, the team feels the presure to score quick to compensate for the bucket that we receive and over play a partnof the field leaving the 3 point wide open for the shooters.
Since we dont have good enough D, we dont create oportunities for fast braks and we have to rely a lot more than we like in our half court offense which we still don have.
And so forth.
Coach Rose is very good, he needs probably a better defensive guy or coach Lewis needs one more year to make hisndefnsive system work.
A new offensive mind coach that run the O would be fine, but more important in my opinion is somebody that work with the bigs.
I dont want a Roger Reid or Krysko offense, those Offenses are not what atract talent at BYU because are boring and kids want to show his offensive abilities in my opinion.
