I know nothing about this situation, but insisting that BYU is right and it is 100% a family problem is ludicrous. It is BYU's job to recruit the family, not the other way around. If the family didn't like the pitch, it is not a family problem. It isn't a BYU problem either, it just wasn't the right fit. If BYU loses enough of these, they may need to look at how they recruit.
