Gabe never committed to BYU. He and his family were actually

upset that his offer came quite a bit after the offer to Kaufusi, who is a year younger and backed up Gabe. I know their family personally and that came straight from the family.

I think a lot of times the BYU staff just assumes that since a kid's dad played for BYU, they don't have to recruit him like other top recruits. It hurts people's feelings and egos.
