It didn't sound all that intelligent
I actually have issues with the whole premise. However, I've been reading a lot of these types of articles specifically from a lot of guys in my same field (computer science) and it makes me think that these guys are living in a bubble and have poor observation skills. A few things:

1. The modernization is happening at a much slower pace than any of them admit. I could list dozens of areas where we are almost downright prehistoric and have decades before they improve significantly.
2. In modern web companies I have actually seen an INCREASE in human interaction as companies have realized that human touch is a key differentiator and is a way to get ahead.
3. These modernizations open up many many jobs in engineering, design and sales. A more important discussion to me is what we do with all of the uneducated masses who can't fill these positions. That is a true near term issue. The issues he is talking about are hundreds of years in the future imo if at all. When these guys talk about mass self driving cars across America any time soon they lose all credibility.
4. They treat humans as generally very stupid which is typical of academia and technology specialists. They provide little understanding that humans have always come up with work and ideas.
