We're looking at Whirlpool duet and LG something (both high-efficiency). The LG ones have roughly the same specs and are a bit less expensive, but I hear they tend to have more issues than Whirlpool.

While I'm on the topic of appliances, how's LG for refrigerators? Hoping to get something for under $2k. The cutout is 36" wide and 72" high. It's only 25" deep so pretty much any fridge will stick out quite a bit, but we're looking to minimize that as much as reasonable.
