I'm not sure what caused it to go out. I was at work when the repairman came.
He told my wife that the drum was completely ruined. I suppose it probably was a bearing that caused that. The thing was literally tearing itself apart. For a couple weeks before we knew it was broken, there were chunks of some material all over our clothes. I had no idea what it was, but it turns out that it was parts of the washer scraping off during the spin cycle.

Honestly, I would be way happy if we could get 5 years out of the new washer. The duet lasted us a year. Just enough time to not be covered by any warranty, of course.
