I am close with a couple who had a similar experience. 6 months into pregnancy they learned that there were terrible problems and the baby would only live a few hours if he even made it to delivery. They agonized over whether they should abort or carry the baby to term. They decided to carry the baby to term. The baby lived only a few hours but they are so grateful for the few hours and powerful feelings of love they had for him.

It has been about a year and they still struggle but remember with joy their little boy and the peace they had with him for a few hours. I can't imaging the heartbreak but they are doing okay.
