i'm in this camp...it's not riley's fault he was the only available option at
QB when max left and jake fizzled out.
it's not riley's fault the coaches played him injured, nor listened to his pleas to play injured.
i expect a competitive athlete to give 100%, try and get on the field any way he can and try to steal the guy's job in front of him. people throw their angst of the last several seasons at him unfairly when they are really mad at the following:
- jake heaps wasn't our savior and actually stunk (see KU and U)
- doman stunk at OC
- bronco mismanaged staff and team
- new dynamic offense stunk
- utah got invited to the pac12
- BYU gets left out of conf realignment
- BYU impeccably timed their "down" years during bronco era for first few years of Indy, which really is BAD timing
- that, while riley tried hard, he wasn't super talented so he was easy to pick on
