Yes, he was loyal only to himself and his getting playing time
After finally losing his starting job due to his injuries he acknowledged that he was barely over 50% healthy in the Utah and Boise St games and then threw BYU coaches and teammates who trusted him and put their faith in him under the bus by saying coaches should've known he'd never willingly bench himself due to injury. That's pretty crappy and self-serving.
