Oh dear. I never act like an expert. I am an arm chair QB.
Take my opinions for what they are worth. Nonetheless, I am very familiar with how the recruiting services rate people and how people slip through the cracks etc. It is complete naiveté to act like UConn recruiting classes are better than Virginia. I am not saying people like Scout get things spot on, but year after year with such discrepancy in the rankings of talent between the two teams is not false in the aggregate. It is interesting to see the percentage of highly starred athletes and the higher percentage of them actually playing in the NFL. There actually is a correlation between the ranking in the recruiting services and the higher likelihood for higher ranked players to advance levels later.
