It could happen. BYU has no guarantees as an independent. I think it would

be very unlikely though this year because there are 3 at-large spots this year in NY6 bowls. Next year there are only two, and only one in 2017 so if BYU is going to have a shot at a New Years bowl they better take advantage of this season where everything appears to line up favorably.
