You mean like FSUs #62 SOS last year?
And that was after the NC game. I don't even know how low it was before that. #2 was Oregon at #29, only nine spots ahead of BYU at #38. But Baylor, the BIG 12 champ must have had a good one, right? Yep, they check in at a stellar #48. Ten spots worse than BYU. Alabama? Nope #39.

Need I go on?

Your definitive statement that there is no way BYU gets in is wrong. In fact it's impossible for a statement like that to be true. BYU Has already been in, in a system that was just a biased as the current one. And again in 96 they were #5 with one loss with a schedule that was probably easier than next years. Did you get that? BYU has a loss and still made it up to #5! If they were undefeated they would have ended the regular season at #3 (at least). So the actual evidence does not support you opinion.

Playing 8-9 P5s has nothing to do with it. Yes we need at least a couple of good games but 9 games against the likes of Wake Forest, Rutgers and Washington State wont do anything for us.

I do agree with your last statement, but the coaches and AP polls don't have anything to do with the selection committee. If BYU is rated top 3 in those polls, a not impossible scenario, it would be very hard for them to ignore that. More so - given a top 3 ranking, 3 undefeated P5 teams and everyone else having 2-3 losses BYU is almost certainly in. Its pretty rare for a team with 2 more losses than BYU to be ranked ahead of them. And in every case BYU has laid an egg to give the voters and excuse. An undefeated season would not give them that excuse.

BYU is not Marshal that needs to be 8-0 before they even get into the polls. In 07 BYU was top 10 after only four games.

I just don't understand the negativity. Is it a defense mechanism?
