Go back and figure out where your SOS figure comes from.
Then consider that that source has NOTHING to do with the CFP. Then consider that the P5's did that ON PURPOSE.

You are so mentally entrenched in the BCS system and the methods of determining the rankings of teams that your reasoning is unavoidably flawed.

The number of P5's on one's schedule is the ONLY thing that P5 sources and the media have talked about concerning the initial basis for the COMMITTEE to determine a PERCEIVED SOS. Go read up on it, it is easy to find.

You continue to quote mathematics from a dead system.

What you perceive as "negativity" I simply proclaim as educated realism. I don't mean to imply how intelligent and educated I am; simply that I read the media reports about the available information about the CFP. ESPN programming and other national outlets talk about number of P5's on one's schedule ALL THE TIME.

The ACC and SEC issue with BYU being counted as a P5 has everything to do with perceived SOS. They are very well aware that BYU frequently does well in SOS as determined by Sagarin, etc. They are utterly unconcerned with that because they know the committee is looking for P5 conference members on your schedule.

Why??

Because the P5 conferences designed it that way. Who do you think put the CFP system and the committee together, some impartial NCAA board?

No. The P5 conferences control the whole thing. Top to bottom. The committee answers to the P5. The committee, all save only a couple of persons, have direct ties to the P5 conferences. The system is RIGGED in their favor.

It is not fair. It is not right. It's unAmerican. Welcome to modern college football of the haves and have-nots.

Why do you think the NATIONAL media is so dire about BYU's independence? Why do you think TH just before the season began said that he figured BYU's independence is a temporary existence?

BYU is shut out and everyone knows it. Except an island of BYU faithful on CB and elsewhere. I am not down on these great fans (no sarcasm here), such as you, for hoping, I just hope they can adjust when reality closes in.
