he didn't actually jump over the ball at any point. Fell over yes, when he missed picking it up for the second time but he never jumped over it. People just say that because it makes it sound funnier. The worst part was the snap and the next worst was the ball slipping out of his hand when he tried to throw it. The "jump" over the ball is pretty unimportant.

Watch it again and leave the pre conceived notions at home. It is really not that bad. It's not great, but it doesn't match the legend.
