Sagarin is a relatively unbiased criteria...but there are 250 schools ranked...
...so top half would be 125th and above? 2-10 Temple(117th) was in the top half of the 2013 rankings, based on that criteria.
Additionally, Utah finished ranked higher than BYU in the 2013 Sagarin ratings. Would you say that 5-7 Utah was a good team? Better than 2013 BYU?
Ohio finished 7-6 last year...again, was that a good team?
Finishing above .500 is a very low bar. If that's your measurement of success, then it's understandable why you have no complaints with Bronco or the current state of the BYU program. I think most BYU fans want at least one the following to consider the season a success:
High quality bowl (NY6 or better)
Top 25 ranking
Conference championship
Obviously the 3rd is impossible, but at least 1 of the other 2 were not outside of the realm of possibility, even after TH went down. A top 25 ranking is still attainable if BYU wins out...but that seems unrealistic, based on the quality of play we've seen over the past 2 weeks.
