I don't claim that USU is superior or equal to BYU academically, overall. There are certainly a handful of programs where that is probably true, but that's beside the point. What I AM also saying is that a degree from BYU doesn't do much more for me than a degree from USU, looking at the big picture. But a degree from Harvard vs. a degree from BYU (or USU)? Obviously there's a big difference there.
Also, USU's mandate is to educate the masses, so, naturally, the average admission stats will be better at BYU. However, I feel confident that the upper tier of USU students would compete very well with the upper tier at BYU. Not to mention that the upper tier Aggies would be a whole lot more tolerable to hang out with.
