I know grown intelligent men that would look at that rifle and magazine and have zero clue how to load the magazine and put a bullet in the chamber. A young kid doesn't even have the strength to do it.
The issues with guns and home is usually loaded revolvers in easy to get to places. Not unloaded guns in areas kids can't get to.
I would suggest it not being in plain sight, between that and it being out of reach you should be fine. If a kid is so intent on doing harm they can always find a butcher knife or chemicals or any other household item. We can't bubble and child proof the world.
