all into it? I've shot my brother's AR-15 before and as already pointed out in this thread, they're pretty complicated. If someone is in the military or for whatever reason has been trained to use a rifle like that I can see how it would be effective for home defense, but my guess is most civilians who own that rifle don't have much experience with it outside recreational shooting. Someone like myself would be just as likely to shoot through a wall and hit a family member as whatever the threat is, maybe even more likely. I'd probably be better off using a knife or baseball bat for home defense.
