I think with slow point guards we'd struggle more in half court sets
we don't have guys who are very good at creating their own shots. Part of half court offense would seem to me greatly by having a point guard who can break down the defense and get to the middle of the lane thus enabling kick out to shooters or getting to the basket. With point guards who are slow frequently like bYU has had that would be a struggle in my opinion. the other option would of course be a good back to the basket big man. Those aren't exactly moving through by you at a regular clip either
