It was a relatively weak schedule and a horrible home schedule.

A number of the decent teams will be bowl eligible. If your exepctation is to play decent teams and lose to half of them, then this was a respectable season. Keep in mind that a team only needs to go .500 to be bowl eligible. There is no silver lining on this season except the great blowout of Texas on the road.
