I think you are having some struggles with your math, so let me help you out.
You don't get to just cherry pick which years we will include or exclude.

If you take the years we have been independent, our average strength of schedule has been 66. For the MWC years from '99 to '10, average strength of schedule was 56. You statement that most of the time the MWC schedule was worse is false.

I'll even help you out here and accept your cherry picking of years. Let's say we exclude 2010 (the year Utah and TCU were both top 10) and 2004 (the year Utah won their first BCS game), our average strength of schedule was 61. Still lower than our 2014 SOS of 76.

Really, no matter how you slice it, actual facts prove your statement of "MWC schedules were no better than what we have this season, and usually worse" to be false.

You would save yourself headaches if you didn't make statements of conjecture that aren't based on facts.
