Bronco's teams do that. Specifically, walk throughs at stadiums

Practice walk throughs at hotels, team position meetings, and lots and lots of food.

Every serious college football program has a very regimented itinerary. And there is enough time to do firesides.

Like it has been mentioned in this thread. The players would have a few hours of down time on Friday evening. That is just replaced with an optional fireside.
