The decision to hire Howell was a bad one any way you slice it. People can try
and explain it away all they want, but the truth is staring you and them right in the face, and you simply are unable to be objective about it.

Being a BYU coach does not give you immunity to making mistakes or receiving criticism from people who are unwilling to live in fantasyland with the rest of you where everything Bronco and/or BYU does is perfectly peachy. Hiring Howell was a mistake plain and simple. The only question that remains is whether or not Mendenhall can swallow his pride and realize that he's made some terrible coordinator hires, and fix what he's messed up... starting with firing Howell. From what I can tell, Bronco will be arrogant and stubborn about the whole thing, and BYU will suffer through a few more years of this "experiment" before somebody puts their foot down and says enough is enough.

I happen to think Bronco is a good coach... who's made some terrible decisions when it comes to hiring coaches, and has a few annoying personality traits... that's all.
