An active LDS kid will always have BYU high on their list of schools to go to, and parents wanting their kid in a good environment will recruit BYU. Without that there is almost zero chance a kid like Jabari Parker would ever have considered BYU. I think ND has the same thing to a lesser degree with Catholic kids. My Catholic bro in law is a big ND fan just because of the church.
