There's really no point to going down to Tucson if you live in Phoenix

(except maybe for hiking or something), but I love living in the suburbs of Tucson. Great place. Going to Phoenix for the occasional shopping trip, cheaper airfare, or temple trip is just fine, but I have absolutely no desire to live there.
