He's getting divorced, and just recently filed, so he's in the 90-day wait period. His wife proposed that they can still "see each other" while everything is pending, and he found it pretty tempting.

We talked and he decided it would be best not to "see" her, and also decided he needed to cut her off emotionally (IE, not console his soon to be ex for hours a night).

He still has a glimmer of hope for reconciliation, and figures that he needs to cut her off (physically and emotionally) so that she can understand the gravity of her choice. He also figures that a failure to sever those connections just holds him back and keeps him from healing and moving on.
