I had a friend whose dad and step mom did something similar. it was a second

Marriage for both of them after their first spouses died. They were LDS got married but decided quickly that they couldn't stand living with each other and fought frequently and separated. They never communicated or saw each other but stayed married so that when one or both wanted to get frisky they would meet up. Really was a strange setup.
