P5 teams yes, not G5 teams
Beating a Wagner or Savannah State does NOTHING for BYU. Playing a lower tier P5 school does and the way that it does is that every other P5 conference play their weaker P5 schedule. BYU does this as an Indy and do away with G5 teams.
IF BYU played a P5 schedule with no G5 teams and say BSU plays G5 teams with a few BIG name P5 teams and end up with the same record as BYU..the CFP committee would take BYU over BSU, simply because of SOS (P5 teams trump G5 teams) and that is how CFB is trending.
Add to the fact that the B12 don't have a GCG at the end of the 2015 season and the CFP committee is up to see what team plays in NY6 or in the FF spot....it would be interesting to see IF the CFP committee takes BYU over a B12 team.
